Über die Configdatei. Vermutlich wird da irgendein Standardwert gesetzt, oder eben keiner und darum gibt es keine Chance ein Passwort zu generieren.

Klar, früher gab es fast nur Arris Modem bei KabelBW. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch die no-service.bin noch. Die CMTS sind ja auch meist von Arris, demnach hat man auch dahingehend Support bei UM fürs Provisioning.

Aber ihr kommt doch auch nicht auf das Gerät, wenn man es ohne Verbindung zum Kabelnetz betreibt. Wo soll das der Seed herkommen?

Richtig, das scheint so gewollt. Arris sagt es muss ein Seed gesetzt sein. Auf der einen Seite auch logisch, da im verborgenen Teil nur HFC relevante Informationen sind.

Wenn man sich durch das Arris Firmware Guide liest kommt man imo auf 3 Szenarien :kratz:

1. Es wird kein Seed von UM gesetzt
Dann sollte der Default Seed gesetzt sein. Wenn man dann noch dass Original Arris PWoD Tool hat und dort die Checkbox 'Use default Seed' aktiviert sollte es funktionieren

Nein, damit funktioniert es nicht. Arris hat mitgeteilt dass die neuen Firmwares das nicht mehr unterstützen. Die generierten Passwörter funktionieren auch nicht. Hier mal ein Passwort für heute mit Default Seed: PFYREPNMS2

Kann man beim Arris Modem den Betrieb auf DOCSIS 3.0 only beschränken?
Aufgrund meiner Probleme mit dem schlechten OFDM Kanal suche ich aktuell nach Alternativen.
Mein TC4400 synct trotzdem mit dem OFDM Kanal und lässt sich nicht davon abbringen.

Ich habe diese Modem jetzt im Einsatz und ein Problem damit. Nach einem, auch kurzem, Verbindungsabbruch baut das Modem keine neue Verbindung zum Netz auf. Haben das andere auch?

Was meinst Du mit Verbindungsabbruch? Du hast das Coaxkable gezogen? Was passiert nach einem Neustart des Modem? Sicher dass die Leitung nicht gestört oder komplett weg ist?
